On the AnyText home page you will see “text AnyText to 80818 and we will call you back”. In this example “AnyText” is a Keyword, and 80818 is a text SMS Short Code. Having texted’ you receive an acknowledgement message, and we then phone you back. You don’t have to give us your phone number, it comes to us automatically.

That is how Short Code/Keyword marketing works. So try texting AnyText to 80818 to see it in action – and we will phone you back!

Text SMS Short Codes are memorable 5 digit numbers and customers can send a message to them to get information, enter competitions, receive property details and so on. For example, to download a mobile game you might text Game 9 to 80818, or to request property details you would text Prop 123 to 80818.

Keywords can be whatever you want them to be. Your Keyword is unique to you and the usual choice is the name of your company or a word associated with the product or service which you offer. Remember, though, that your customer will be texting your Keyword to a text SMS Short Code, so your Keyword should be as short as possible. When texting a text SMS Short Code the customer is charged their normal network rate.

You can also set up Reverse Billing with a Short Code/Keyword combination. So, if you are selling a mobile game, and showing the cost in your advertisements, after texting in the customer receives the Game on their mobile, and a charge is made to the mobile phone. Reverse Billed text SMS Short Codes can be set up to charge 25p, 50p, £1.00, £1.50, £3.00 or £5.00.
